Welcome to NPL Teddington CC

About us

NPL Teddington Cricket Club is based in the grounds of the National Physical Laboratory, backing on to Bushy Park, Teddington. The ground is tree-lined and totally enclosed with plenty of space for families to watch and play.

CRICKET

The 1st XI are currently playing in Division 4 of the Morrant Thames Valley League with the 2nd and 3rd XIs playing in lower divisions. The league season runs from May to early September. In addition, the 4th XI play non-league matches against local sides, where we look to introduce Colts into senior cricket.

On Sunday the club plays in the Bushy Park League against local clubs and put out a friendly side when not involved in competition.

The club's long-standing tour to Somerset in early August will be held over to 2013 due to its clash with a slightly larger sporting event in 2012. The club also hosts Middlesex u13 and u17 colts' club finals at Queen's Road on the August Bank Holiday Monday.

COLTS

The Club is ClubMark accredited and provides Coaching and Training for Colts on Sundays from April until July at our Queen's Road ground. For the 2011 season, we are running sides at U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15 and U17 level, but welcome players from the age of 7. All age groups are headed up by ECB qualified Coaches, which includes 3 Head Coaches,6 Level 2 and more Level 1 coaches. We also run an Academy for our most promising players, providing 1:1 intensive coaching and masterclasses in the key skills of the game.

Age groups up to U11 will practise on Sunday mornings from 10am to 12pm, whilst all other age groups will practice midweek 6pm to 8pm.

For 2012, we will also be running week-long Cricket Camps during the summer holidays, aimed at those age groups. The Camps will be running the weeks of July 23rd and 30th and August 20th.

For information on joining the colts section, contact Youth Development Manager Chris Churchman on 07768 346456.

The club has 2 playing squares with a recently rebuilt clubhouse and adjoining changing rooms which are due for renovation in the near future. A 2 lane net facility and an artificial wicket for the 2nd XI square are now installed and in regular use. We also have a bowling machine and roll-on net for grass wicket practice and coaching.

OTHER FACILITIES

Facilities on site include tennis courts, a bowling green, five-a-side football pitch, and a full–size snooker table. The bar offers a range of real ales and food, and a committee room and function room for parties.

The club is part of the NPL Sports Club which also has tennis, senior and junior football, hockey, bowls and other sections, and hosts various events including our Fireworks Night display attended by local residents.
